It’s no use going back to yesterday because I was a Alice in Wonderland snippitdifferent person back then. – Lewis Carroll Alice’s, Adventures in Wonderland

I really love this line from the story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland because it reminds me that there’s no value in looking back to yesterday.

I’ve made so many mistakes in my lifetime, and Satan likes to remind me about each one of those mistakes. Repeatedly. Yes… over and over again!! He seems to make sure I don’t forget them so that he can rob joy and peace from my life.

Here’s what you and I need to realize…

If I’ve already confessed my sin to my Heavenly Father, then it’s NOT God reminding me of these mistakes! It’s Satan!

We serve a merciful God…who is capable of understanding our sin nature — after all, He created us!

As I’ve said before in previous devotionals — God remembers we’re but flesh…He knows our earthly frame. (Psalms 103:14)

I have nothing deeply profound to share with you today, but I do have some words of encouragement. God’s Word is your powerhouse stuffed full of promises that can keep you from being (and feeling) defeated.

Christians lack victory in their lives when they neglect daily reading and feeding on God’s Word. I’m going to share a few of God’s good, golden nuggets with you today. (Much tastier than any chicken nuggets. tee hee!)

> God is faithful to forgive if you confess your sins.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – I John 1:9 KJV

Take God at His Word! He’s FAITHFUL without fail to forgive you and I!

> God will remember your sins no more.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. – Hebrews 8:12 KJV

> Satan is your accuser, but Jesus doesn’t condemn you… He forgives and encourages you to move forward.

When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. – John 8:10,11 KJV

> Your past sins are completely G-O-N-E.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. – Psalms 103:12 KJV

> It’s no use going back to yesterday because you were a different person back then.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. – II Corinthians 5:17 KJV

> The world has nothing of worth to offer you, so keep looking straight ahead!

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. – Luke 9:62 KJV

> Let’s repeat this… Don’t look back! The consequences are NOT worth it!!

But his (Lot’s) wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. – Genesis 19:26 KJV

I know if you read and meditated on all of the Bible verses above, then God’s Word will do its work in your life today. Don’t forget to include God’s Word as a part of your day tomorrow…and everyday! Claim your VICTORY over your past failure and sin through Jesus! 🙂

God bless your day ahead,
