How to Get Rid of Your Clutter and Enjoy Some Serenity in Your Home

I’ve been married for 21 years now… and through the years we’ve collected WAY more than we necessarily need. I know it can be a challenge if you have others in your household that insist on collecting “stuff”… LOTS of “stuff”.  🙂 Personally, the change had to start with me. Example speaks louder than words. I began purposely creating clean spaces around me and enjoying the pure “serenity” of my clutter-free zones.  I think and focus better.  (Ahhh… I just took a nice sip of my tea… things even taste better while sitting at a clean, clear organized desk.)  😉 This journey has been (and IS… since I’m still working…

Why Jesus Said, "It is Finished"

I had a big goal in 2014 that I didn’t get finished.  The goal was to get my house organized from top to bottom. First, I didn’t realize what a challenge that would be trying to get all of it done in a specific time frame since we had collected WAY too much stuff over our 21 years of marriage. Secondly, I got distracted… I got lazy.   But, thankfully, I’ve never quit.  I’m still pursuing that goal headstrong. I have quite a long way to go, but as the saying goes… you only fail if you quit. How to Be Still and Take Time to Know God

“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalms 46:10 I’ll be the first to admit… it’s really hard to sit still. I always have in the back of my mind something that needs to get done.  The mental list is like a gazillion feet long. And once I get my day started, I hate delays and interruptions when I’m in the midst of getting a project done. Oh, I really hate when I mess up and have to start all over. I said all of that to say again… it’s really hard to sit…

    How to Freshen Musty Towels

At our house (not naming any guilty boys here..tsk tsk.) 🙂 there are times when damp towels get tossed into our laundry basket.  I have a hamper in the hallway just for collecting towels…and the whole basket ends up smelling musty when this happens. Anyway, I keep a good supply of vinegar on hand.  In fact, vinegar is quite handy for so many things! To freshen up your musty towels, just wash them in hot water with one or two cups of vinegar (how much vinegar you will need depends on the size of the load, of course).  Then, do a regular wash as normal.  This really does the trick…
