Day 30 – It's Me, Oh Lord, Standing in the Need of Prayer

Day 30!  Wow, only 10 days left… I didn’t know if I would have enough to say to keep blogging about one topic for that long…we’ll seeeee 10 days from now?? 😉 Ever feel guilty about praying for yourself?  It’s true that our prayers should be directed toward praising God and then praying for others.  But, we’ve also got to pray for ourselves. At times, we really need a LOT of prayer.  God instructs us to, “Call unto me“… “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” Jeremiah 33:3 His promise is that “I will ANSWER thee”… “and shew…

    Day 29 – Oh, Don't Look Back!

“And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62 kjv Today I chose the verse above because it’s my mom’s life verse.  Before beginning my second grade year in school, God had called my dad to preach.  We sold many of our possessions and moved to Springfield, MO into a trailer park so that my dad could attend Bible college. Too many church members sit in their pews and pray that God will find a Sunday school teacher for the second grade class.  Or…

Day 27 – Blog Hop on the Topic of Prayer

Update:  My hubby has been quite sick for the last couple of days due to being stranded two hours in the cold when he ran into the ditch on Sunday.  So, many prayers of mine are going up on his behalf.  I do think he’s on the mend, but still feeling quite weak and sleeping a lot. Today, I’m sharing with you 10 blog posts on Prayer… Checking a Prayer List – “It came to mind this evening as I thought about the prayer requests given in services last night, the Pray Until Something Happens list I keep, the people who come to mind and I simply know I need…

Day 26 – Turn Every Chore Into a Prayer

“Pray without ceasing.” ~ I Thessalonians 5:17 Every minute, every hour is a chance to pray. Our whole day can be a day of constant prayer. We can turn every chore into a time of prayer… As we wash dishes, we can pray for each child that ate off of that plate or drank out of that cup.  As we fold laundry we can utter prayer for the person who owns the shirt we’re folding. Every time we have a thought of someone, we can pray for them.  Every time we pass someone at church, we can whisper in our heart a blessing of prayer for them. Every worry can…
