    Rejoice, Rejoice… You CAN Rejoice!

Philippians 4:4 says,  “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.” I know I’ve already used this verse not too long ago…but I couldn’t help but feel that it was appropriate for me to use it again today.  After all, the emphasis in this verse is to REJOICE again and again — and always. 🙂  And that means it’s perfect for everyday use. To truly REJOICE daily, even when you’re facing trials, I believe you have to increase your faith in our Heavenly Father.  This means that you and I need to keep trusting Him even though circumstances might be a little bleak. REJOICING allows us to REST…

    There’s Sufficient Grace for You

Note: All Bible verses in this devotional are from the King James Version. “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” (2nd Corinthians 12:9) In July 1651, in the company of Dr. John Clarke and Mr. Crandall, Obadiah Holmes made a visit to William Witter, a Baptist, who resided at Lynn, Massachusetts about twelve miles from Boston. The day after their arrival being the Sabbath, they arranged to have a religious service at the house of their host. In the…

    Pridefulness is NOT So Pretty!

Note: All Scripture for this devotional is taken from the King James Bible The prideful person often thinks that everyone is looking at them with ardent admiration but in truth… Everyone is actually looking at the big ugly mark on their face. It’s called PRIDE! I recently taught the parable of the Pharisee and the Publican (Luke 18:9-14) in our 5th & 6th grade Sunday School class.  The Pharisee was of the religious sect among the Jews. They considered themselves pretty righteous and better than others. They looked rather great from the outside, after all, they followed some of the strict ceremonies and traditions of the elders. In this parable,…

Sing and Rejoice Like You Mean It!

All Scripture references are from the King James Bible Have you ever done a task and then realized shortly afterward that you didn’t know if you actually did it or not? I’ve done many routine household and personal tasks without being fully present. Haha! My mind was obviously daydreaming or on some other project needing to get done for the day. I love to sing in church, but anything we do repeatedly can become a little “robotic” in our functioning without realizing what words we’re really singing. Singing songs about God is truly a part of worshiping our Heavenly Father at church.   Psalm 150:1 says, “Praise ye the LORD.…

    Plant Extra Seeds This Year

“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” – 2nd Corinthians 9:6 (KJV) I read this Bible verse at the beginning of this year. It is a popular verse, and you’ve probably read it several times in the past as well. To get a full glimpse of its context, we can look at the next couple of verses… “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency…
