How Much Do You Love the Lord?

Today’s Bible passage is Mark 12:30 (kjv) which says, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” The question I wanted to present to you today is… How Much Do You Love the Lord? Is it enough that you’ve spoken to Him in prayer today? Is it enough that you craved His Word by reading your Bible today? Is it enough that you have included Him this week in all your decisions? Is it enough that you thank and praise Him continually? Is it enough that…

Because it Makes a Considerable Difference

For the last couple of months, I’ve been circling the word “BECAUSE” in my Bible.  I consider the words “because” and “therefore” as words implying that a “game changer” situation is in the works. These two words should draw our attention. It should cause us to slow down and ponder – to consider and chew on it for awhile. As I said recently, I’ve been slowly strolling through the book of Jeremiah in the Old Testament… And this week, I caught another “BECAUSE” fish on my hook. (*See Jeremiah 29:1) We get the pleasure of hearing the Lord God’s instructing words to these captives! He instructs them with these actions: – Build houses and dwell in them. – Plant gardens and eat the fruit from…

    Don’t Hide From God!

Last week something caught my attention in II Chronicles 12 that I wanted to share with you today.  In verse 13, we are informed that King Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem. As a king, Rehoboam had an important job to do. His name would certainly be noted in history, but sadly, we read that he did evil. “And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the LORD.”  – II Chronicles 12:14 KJV The word “BECAUSE” in verse 14 is teaching us a little mini lesson. Rehoboam failed to prepare his heart to seek the Lord…the consequences lead him…

5 Bible Verses on Using Our Words Well

During this time of dealing with being cooped up inside due to the quarantine, I think WORDS have become more essential than ever… They have become our main source of connecting with each other during a time where we may not be able to physically gather together in groups and social activities. Our very WORDS can be a fountain of encouragement to those who are sick, depressed, discouraged and lonely. Here’s FIVE Bible verses on using our WORDS well… “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” – Proverbs 16:24 kjv Think about what you can do to encourage someone else each day…
