How to Avoid Deadly Poison in Your Christian Walk

Could I convince you to swallow just a tiny drop of poison? What if I sprinkled it on top of your favorite dessert, would you take a bite? One thing is for sure… You and I both would cringe and quickly push it away from us. Small drop or not, we know it’s enough to contaminate our whole body and make us sick. Did you know we have something in our body that’s as powerful as deadly poison? James 3:8 says, “But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” I’m sure at this point in life, most of us have discovered…

When Should We Give Up and Seek God’s Help?

Psalms 46:1 is one of my favorite Bible verses.  It’s a bold reminder that God is very present in our lives….and He’s there to help us in times of trouble. Sometimes we tend to rely on our “own strength” to get us through. We struggle and we worry.  We fret and we try to figure it all out. We lose sleep because our minds will not rest until we find a solution. Have you ever seen a stubborn toddler insist on doing something on their own? You know they really need help, but because of their fuss and insistence to “do it myself” you  let them struggle on their…

God Cares About the Little Things and He Gave Me Something Special

Last week God graciously answered a couple of my prayer requests.  God is so good!  I’m going to share one of those answered prayers with you today. What’s so great is that God answered a desire of mine with a specific fulfillment on His part.  God cares about the little things…and is able to take care of ALL our needs… even if those needs aren’t always what we label as a “live or die” type situation.  And, He can answer SPECIFIC needs and requests. In the back of my prayer journal last Tuesday, I wrote down a couple of things that I would really like to have for some gardening…

Have You Ever Been Disappointed in God?

“Have you ever been disappointed in God?“….this was a question presented as a discussion by a Pastor friend on Facebook. Here was my response… I think if we’re really honest, we’ll admit that there has been a time when we “wished” “God had answered our prayer request with a “yes” fulfilling our own desire…or perhaps prevented some trial from entering our life. Our test of faith comes when we realize that we must humble ourselves in such situations and recognize that God always knows best and doeth ALL things well. In the day and age that we’re living, so many Christians are depressed and living defeated lives. The fact…

He is Risen as He Said – Matthew 28:6

Happy Resurrection Sunday! Easter isn’t about candy and Easter bunnies… Today, I celebrate the resurrection of my Lord Jesus! His sacrifice on the cross… the blood that He shed means my sins have been paid for…. a debt I could not have ever paid for myself. Because He is risen… Because He lives… Because of His love for YOU and me… I have the gift of eternal life in Heaven!!! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. ~ John 3:15 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the…
