The word, ONLY, makes a distinctive difference in a sentence. The dictionary defines ONLY as: “No one or nothing more besides; solely or exclusively.” The word, “ONLY,” insinuates a limitation, which can imply a good or bad situation. If I say that I “only” have to work three hours today instead of eight, that implies a positive outlook. But, if I say that I “only” have three dollars left, yet I need eight to purchase my meal, that implies a negative limitation. When I say that the…

God Sees Your Mistreatment
Each one of us can think back to a time when somebody has wronged us. Mistreatment, unfairness, the violation of honesty, respect, consideration, etc. can cause agony, hurt and frustration in our lives. Jacob could easily identify with our frustration of being mistreated. He had been continually wronged by his father-in-law, Laban. We’ve probably had legitimate excuses for being a bit grouchy at times. But then we come to that testy question… Does grumbling please God? In the Old Testament, we read how the Israelite people grumbled and complained often. It displeased God much. Looking…

God Can Handle it ALL!
At 3 am on Monday morning (well, more specifically, it was at 2:58 am ha! ha!) one of my favorite Bible verses was brought to my thoughts. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5 kjv I began to ponder on the word “IN.” During this time of uncertainty with the quarantine, “what” we are trusting in is not nearly as important as “Who” we are trusting in. We CANNOT trust in our money, in our health, in our government, in our possessions, in our family, in our finances, in our talents, nor any other thing on the face of…
