Day 12 – What God Teaches Us From Such Little Things

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” ~ Matthew 17:20 It’s wonderful how God has used “small things” to show us that small things really do count.  Even our small faith.  A little faith can grow to become bigger faith the more we use it…the more we water it with the Word of God and the more we pray. A friend shared this visual illustration on Facebook today, and so…

Day 8 – The Solution to Every Problem and Answer to Every Question

“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” ~ Proverbs 2:6 [caption id="attachment_4118" align="alignright" width="164"] God has the answer, just pray![/caption] Have you ever heard that saying, “God helps those who helps themselves“? It doesn’t mean that we ought to just figure things out for ourselves.   It does imply; however, that we need to take action. We don’t just pray and then sit around waiting for God to do all the work.  If we do our part, God’s more than willing to do His part — the part that we can’t do on our own. Sometimes it’s difficult know what we should do next, or…

Day 7 – Don't Trust Worldly Wisdom That's Not Backed Up by God's Word

“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.” ~ Proverbs 28:26 kjv How are you? Hope all is well with everyone today.  This is my 7th day to focus on Prayer and learn more about prayer from God’s Word.  I’m going to try to keep my posts a bit shorter if possible, mainly because I can easily get quite wrapped up in writing and then find that I’ve spent way too much time on my computer. So, hopefully I can “shorten” up my posts some. 😉 Update:  I’ve had a prayer answered.  Praise God!  God is in the “answering” business….and…

Day 6 – Run, Run, Run to the Safety Zone!

Can you recall a time when something scared you really bad?  And then, when the situation was resolved you felt such relief? Have you ever had a bad dream that found you in a miserable situation, and you felt such comfort knowing it was “just” a dream when you woke up? You felt safe again.  It felt good to be safe. Our Heavenly Father is a strong tower to provide us with relief, comfort and safety. I love Proverbs 18:10 that reminds us there is a strong tower to RUN, RUN, RUN to when we’re in trouble.  It’s our safety zone. By the way, that strong tower isn’t just for…

Day 5 – Falling is Not Failure — Keep Getting Back Up!

“For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:” Proverbs 24:16 kjv [caption id="attachment_4054" align="alignright" width="312"] Falling is Not Failure — Keep Getting Back Up![/caption] Yesterday I felt like a failure.  I just didn’t pray enough.  I prayed a few shorts spurts of prayer here and there, but I knew my heart wasn’t really into it like it should have been. It’s at these times we have to recognize our shortcomings.  The flesh does continually battle against the spirit. What I should have done was go lock myself in the bathroom for awhile, soaked in some peace and quiet…. and deliberately took some “time out” to just put…
