    Don’t Forget Jesus

Last night I had a dream.  I was some how trapped, weighted down and helpless.  I don’t know where I was… but it was to the extreme that I could not even speak, nor could my lips move.  I began to try with all my might to call out to Jesus.  I forced my tongue to attempt to utter a sound… “Jesus”.  The words were barely recognizable, as I could not move my lips. With determination… I said again, “Jesus.”  Then, over and over again I tried with all my might.  Each time I got stronger… I gained strength and said it just a bit louder.  Finally my lips were…

Who Gets the Best Gift at Your House on Christmas?

I’m just as guilty as many others who get caught up in all the festivities of Christmas. My mind starts thinking about… Chocolate candy, cake, pies, eggnog, presents, Christmas Hallmark movies, and my favorite thing… stocking stuffers! 🙂 There’s truthfully no other REAL reason for celebrating Christmas than our SAVIOR…who gave us the most PRECIOUS gift we’ve ever been given…eternal life! (John 3:16) I know this is as simple as it gets.  We always hear others say “Jesus is the Reason for the Season.”   But I wonder… If He came to your house or my house this Christmas… I wonder if He would feel that He was really being the…

Don’t Miss Out on God’s Blessings!

Don’t you just LOVE giving things to your children and watching the excitement, enthusiasm and expressions on their faces?  The delight in their eyes melts your heart. What makes you want to give them things you know they’ll like?  It’s because we love them, of course. There are those times; however, when our spirit is NOT so giving. The disobedience of your children can frustrate you…even to the point of exhaustion at times. (“Lock-yourself-in-the-bathroom to hide” type of frustration ) 😉 If one of my sons were very disobedient one day, how silly it would be for me to say, “Son, you’ve just been so bad today…let’s go out for…

Isaiah 26:3 – Thou Wilt Keep Him in Pefect Peace – Weekly Memory Verse

Isaiah had the perfect antidote to avoid anxiety and stress — which was to keep your mind on God.  Having such a close, constant connection with Him builds a trust that can’t be diminished with all the trials that surround you. In today’s society, we have a hard time keeping our minds focused on things of God.  We have so many things on our “to do” list, events to attend, our gadgets and social networks that constantly preoccupy our mind, so it can be really hard to keep our mind on Christ. I often get overwhelmed and anxious about matters that shouldn’t really overtake me with worry.  Again, I have…

Dig Your Heels in the Dirt

Dig Your Heels in the Dirt Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands. ~ Proverbs 14:1 I read the above verse to my Sunday school girls this morning. They’re not too young to learn what an awesome opportunity we have as Christian ladies to build our house with our words and our actions.  Sadly, too many married women may make the choice to throw in the towel and wave her hands wearily exclaiming that she’s given up.  America wails about the trees and the whales…but where are the determined campaigns to save the homes and the broken hearts of the children? Homes…
