I’m a Peculiar Person…and Why You Should be One Too

In today’s society we have millions of people walking around showing off their “individuality”… multicolored hair, rings in their nose and eyebrows, and clothes that are so unusual (um…more like really STRANGE)…we’re not even sure where they found such items to wear (is there really a store that sells that stuff?). Yet, Christians are often scoffed at for being so “peculiar”. Sadly, many Christians would rather “mix” into the worldly crowd….rather than be different. Jesus bore so much suffering on the cross for each of us, and sadly we’re often ashamed to be a little different. We’re to be a light to the world… In order to be a light…

Have You Ever Been Disappointed in God?

“Have you ever been disappointed in God?“….this was a question presented as a discussion by a Pastor friend on Facebook. Here was my response… I think if we’re really honest, we’ll admit that there has been a time when we “wished” “God had answered our prayer request with a “yes” fulfilling our own desire…or perhaps prevented some trial from entering our life. (I believe some corroded, rusty, metal pieces fell down in there and lodged, even though we were able to repair the pipes back…

Why Jesus Said, "It is Finished"

I had a big goal in 2014 that I didn’t get finished.  The goal was to get my house organized from top to bottom. First, I didn’t realize what a challenge that would be trying to get all of it done in a specific time frame since we had collected WAY too much stuff over our 21 years of marriage. Secondly, I got distracted… I got lazy.   But, thankfully, I’ve never quit.  I’m still pursuing that goal headstrong. I have quite a long way to go, but as the saying goes… you only fail if you quit. I want to encourage you… Do make goals (life doesn’t change and improve…

Drop a Word of Cheer and Kindness to Encourage Someone Today

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.  ~ Proverbs 18:21 Every day we have an opportunity to use a powerful tool… That power tool is in our own mouth…. our very own tongue. It’s actually a small member of our body, but has such great power to build or destroy. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!  ~ James 3:5 I want to use my words to encourage others. I don’t want to be a gossip or use hurtful words to harm others.…
