Why Jesus Said, "It is Finished"

I had a big goal in 2014 that I didn’t get finished.  The goal was to get my house organized from top to bottom. First, I didn’t realize what a challenge that would be trying to get all of it done in a specific time frame since we had collected WAY too much stuff over our 21 years of marriage. Secondly, I got distracted… I got lazy.   But, thankfully, I’ve never quit.  I’m still pursuing that goal headstrong. I have quite a long way to go, but as the saying goes… you only fail if you quit. I want to encourage you… Do make goals (life doesn’t change and improve…

Drop a Word of Cheer and Kindness to Encourage Someone Today

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.  ~ Proverbs 18:21 Every day we have an opportunity to use a powerful tool… That power tool is in our own mouth…. our very own tongue. It’s actually a small member of our body, but has such great power to build or destroy. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. And once I get my day started, I hate delays and interruptions when I’m in the midst of getting a project done. Oh, I really hate when I mess up and have to start all over. I said all of that to say again… it’s really hard to sit…

    Would I Trade Places?

I’m sure thankful for God’s love and His daily mercies. Aren’t you?!? I’ve made (and still make) so many mistakes a long the way. But I’m so encouraged by what God has said in His Word, “for He knoweth our frame”.  He knows I’m going to mess up. That’s not an excuse to stay on the wrong path, but it’s certainly God’s merciful way of letting me know that He realizes I’m not perfect.  I need HIM everyday!  And YOU need HIM everyday. Don’t start your day without Him!!! 🙂 Here’s some verses that surely encourage me… The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.…

Do You Have Two Identities? Matthew 16:15

by Kathy McCullough, Pastor’s Wife; Kansas Matthew 16:15, “He sayeth unto them, But whom say ye that I am?” Recently, I had some huge problems with my phone.Because of these problems, I had my phone number changed three times in two weeks!! It all began when my phone quit working. I had a replacement plan that guaranteed me a new one if my phone quit working. Six months into having this phone, it quit working! Just like the replacement plan said, they sent me a new (refurbished) phone. When I received it, I immediately followed the directions to turn it on. But after many frustrating hours, this refurbished phone would…
