Day 20 – Nevertheless Not My Will, But Thine, Be Done

“Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.” ~ James 4:3 Today I’m officially have way through the 40 Day Prayer Challenge. I learned a lot… I’ve learned a little more on prayer and love reading about the wonderful ways that God answers prayer.  Many times when He answers, it’s after we’ve taken some step of faith… I’m thinking right now about Naaman who dipped himself seven times in the Jordan river to be healed of his leprosy.  (II Kings 5:14)  If he hadn’t taken that first step, he probably would have never been healed.  Furthermore, if he had quit too…

Day 19 – Help Thou Mine Unbelief – Take One More Leap of Faith

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.” ~ Mark 9:23,24 kjv In Mark 9, we read a story about a father who brings his son before Jesus, hoping that Jesus could help him.  His son had been afflicted with demon possession. This tormenting situation caused his son to be self-inflicted by wallowing on the ground in degradation, foaming at the mouth, gnashing with his teeth, casting himself into the fire or sometimes water trying to destroy himself. What loving parent wouldn’t…

Day 18 – Keep Circling, Don't Stop… Just One More Time Around!

” Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” ~ Philippians 1:6 kjv Sometimes the road gets a little weary. Sometimes things don’t go as smoothly as planned. Sometimes it looks as if you’re going to fail. Sometimes it doesn’t seem worth it to keep going on. Sometimes doubt begins to enter your mind, even though you feel that the Lord called you to do what you’re doing. Sound familiar? Realize it’s God’s job to win the victory over battles that you face, not you.  When you really grasp that concept, you become…

Day 17 – Let Us Go Into the House of the Lord

“Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.” ~ Psalms 92:13 “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.”  ~ Psalms 122:1 Today is the Lord’s Day.  My feet are going to be planted in the house of the Lord today. It’s a privilege that we should NOT take for granted to go to the House of the Lord.  We should be “glad” to go. I know Satan really tries hard to discourage us from being glad about it. He tries to whisper in our ear excuses NOT to go.  Chaos…

Day 16 – Cry Out for Help Because God Can Change His Mind

    1) In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. 2) Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, 3) And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4) Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, 5) Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith…
