Are You a Couch Potato Christian?

I’ve heard it said that many people in our churches are mere “pew warmers.” In other words, they do believe in the importance of being present in the House of God when the doors are open, but they will rarely be seen taking an active role in areas of service, such as helping in a Sunday School class, the bus route, the nursery, the choir, junior church, the kitchen, etc. BUT… did you know that sometimes we Christians can still be couch potatoes spiritually even though we may already be busy at church? It’s great that we’re praying for God to direct our path and lead us, yet we may…

When All We See Is Our Pain

Whenever we have a painful trial, it can totally consume our thoughts and hinder us from us being able to focus on anything outside of our affliction. Trials do have a way of pulling us downward… feeling like a dark, gloomy phase in our life. It can be hard to feel hopeful and look for the positive during these painful times. When all we see is our PAIN, we lose sight of God. It’s so good for us to look at our painful circumstances from a different perspective in how God might use our trials for His glory. The dictionary says that “ADORE” means to love and respect someone deeply. To worship. Christmas should be all about how much we LOVE the Lord Jesus. If we love God as we should, we will try to focus more on bringing glory to Him, not only this Christmas, but throughout the year. The best GIFT you can give to God this Christmas season is your LOVE to Him.  Did you realize that we benefit…

    But God is With Us

Good morning to you! This morning I’m sharing a “mini devotional”, as I am busy this week with food and family preparations going on for Thanksgiving Day.  (By the way, I wish you and your family a “Happy Thanksgiving”. I hope you can enjoy some time with your family.) The other day, this Bible verse from the New Testament caught my attention… And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, – Acts 7:9 KJV I felt like there was just a heart-warming assurance in that little statement… “but God was with him.”  God had not forgotten Joseph. God was with him each step of the…

Why We Should LOVE God’s Commandments?

How much do you LOVE your Bible? Have you ever thought about how much it means to you? There’s a lot of things to LOVE about the Word of God. We read in its pages the greatest LOVE story of all. God gave His only Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins so that we might have eternal life in Heaven. (John 3:16) God’s Word offers hope (Titus 1:2)… it offers comfort (II Corinthians 1:3)… it builds our faith (Romans 10:17)… it shares many noteworthy stories about our Bible heroes (Hebrews 11). There’s something else in our Bible to LOVE as well…. We should LOVE God’s commandments!…
