Recently, I had some huge problems with my phone.Because of these problems, I had my phone number changed three times in two weeks!! It all began when my phone quit working.
I had a replacement plan that guaranteed me a new one if my phone quit working. Six months into having this phone, it quit working! Just like the replacement plan said, they sent me a new (refurbished) phone. When I received it, I immediately followed the directions to turn it on. But after many frustrating hours, this refurbished phone would not turn on so I took it to Wal-Mart’s phone department.
The lady there agonized also to figure out why my phone would not turn on. At last, ‘by accident,’ she saw that there were two meid numbers in my phone–two identifying numbers! The meid number is the number that is used to turn your phone on and off. A phone should have
only one meid number.
Finally, she was able to turn my phone on with ‘one’ of the meid numbers. Yeah! I have a working phone, but only for a few months! One day, even though I am enrolled in automatic refill, my phone is turned off. Now, this began several months of much confusion and frustration, wasting time talking to MANY telephone techs, having my telephone number changed several times and still having my telephone turned off for no apparent reason.
I can not give enough paper time (or exaggeration) to the confusion of two
identifying numbers on my phone. Anyway, Wal-Mart, finally resolved the problem by giving me a phone with one identifying meid number. Go Wally-World!
You know what? We Christians often have the same problem that my refurbished phone had…
We live with two identities. We do things that do not identify us as Godly Christians. When we live with two identities, we will have lots of frustration, wasted hours and LOTS of OFF moments!
Are the ones who watch your lives ‘confused’ because you have more than one identity? We, like that refurbished phone, cause confusion when we live with two identities. That ‘other’ identity will soon catch up with you!
