I really love this line from the story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland because it reminds me that there’s no use looking back to yesterday. I’ve made many mistakes in my lifetime and Satan likes to remind me about each one of those mistakes. He tries to make me feel defeated.
It’s no use going back to yesterday because I was a different person back then. – Lewis Carroll Alice’s, Adventures in Wonderland
God is so good. We serve a merciful God…As I’ve said before in previous posts — God remembers we’re but flesh…He knows our earthly frame. (Psalms 103:14) I have nothing deeply profound to say to you today, but I have something GREATER! God’s Word is your powerhouse stuffed full of promises that will keep you from being (and feeling) defeated. Christians lack victory in their lives when they neglect daily reading and feeding on God’s Word. I’m going to share some of God’s good, golden nuggets with you today. (Much tastier and better than any chicken nuggets. tee hee!)
> God is faithful to forgive if you confess your sins.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – I John 1:9
> God will remember your sins no more.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. – Hebrews 8:12
> Satan is your accuser, but Jesus doesn’t condemn you… He forgives.
When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. – John 8:10,11
> Your past sins are G-O-N-E.
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. – Psalms 103:12
> It’s no use going back to yesterday because you were a different person back then.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. – II Corinthians 5:17
> Don’t look back. The world has nothing of worth to offer you.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. – Luke 9:62
> Repeat. Don’t look back. The world has nothing to worth to offer you.
But his (Lot’s) wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. – Genesis 19:26I know if you read all of these verses above, then God’s Word will do His work in your life today. Don’t forget to include God’s Word as a part of your day tomorrow…and everyday! Claim your victory in Jesus! 🙂 God bless your day ahead, ]]>
