Colossians 3:23 (kjv) says… “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” This Bible verse is self explanatory. We’re to do things heartily, that is, putting our whole heart into whatever task that God has given us to do. A sink full of dishes today? Scrub away with full force! Do a thorough job! Half wiping off the gunk with a sluggish rinse isn’t doing it whole-heartily. Perhaps we could find more enthusiasm doing a dreadful chore WHEN we decide to do it FOR the LORD and not just for man. Looking at Colossians 3:23 a little deeper… We sometimes end up with the wrong…

Is Someone Ruffling Your Feathers?
There are people who will “ruffle our feathers” in life. It’s unavoidable. We all know people who are annoying and will irritate us to the point of insanity. In all fairness, many people don’t intentionally try to upset us. We have so many different personalities that cause conflict with each other On the other hand, there are indeed people who can truly be considered our “enemy” because they personally dislike us and would do all within their power to take us down and see us defeated. Whatever the case may be, it can be hard to keep our mouth shut from dishing out hostile responses. It can also be tough…

Are You a Couch Potato Christian?
I’ve heard it said that many people in our churches are mere “pew warmers.” In other words, they do believe in the importance of being present in the House of God when the doors are open, but they will rarely be seen taking an active role in areas of service, such as helping in a Sunday School class, the bus route, the nursery, the choir, junior church, the kitchen, etc. BUT… did you know that sometimes we Christians can still be couch potatoes spiritually even though we may already be busy at church? It’s great that we’re praying for God to direct our path and lead us, yet we may…

O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord
As we sing Christmas songs this season, do we pay attention to the words we’re singing? Do we really bring honor and glory to our Lord and Savior before the world? Do we really adore Him? The dictionary says that “ADORE” means to love and respect someone deeply. To worship. Christmas should be all about how much we LOVE the Lord Jesus. If we love God as we should, we will try to focus more on bringing glory to Him, not only this Christmas, but throughout the year. The best GIFT you can give to God this Christmas season is your LOVE to Him. Did you realize that we benefit…

But God is With Us
Good morning to you! This morning I’m sharing a “mini devotional”, as I am busy this week with food and family preparations going on for Thanksgiving Day. (By the way, I wish you and your family a “Happy Thanksgiving”. I hope you can enjoy some time with your family.) The other day, this Bible verse from the New Testament caught my attention… And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, – Acts 7:9 KJV I felt like there was just a heart-warming assurance in that little statement… “but God was with him.” God had not forgotten Joseph. God was with him each step of the…
