Lessons Learned Through Grief – Guest Post

Today I’m sharing a guest post by Jane Coley, Missionary Wife, Kenya… December 17, 2017 ~ Three years ago today (1096 days) after suffering with the flu, our Kimberly went to Heaven, not because she was good but because she knew the Savior.  As I grieve for my daughter, there are lessons I am learning. My grief continues to teach me that… …there is no peace in asking “why” only more endless questions. …the “if only” scenarios are self-inflicted injuries we could do without. …grief is chronic: it hurts all the time, but some days are better than others. …I get lost in the dimension of time, and current events…

Facing Trials In Life… You’re Not Alone

Guest post by Kristina Duncan, Pastor’s Wife  Victory Baptist Church, Pleasant Prairie, WI The Book of Psalms has been such a huge encouragement to me over the years. During this season that is designated by the world as Thanksgiving, I can’t help but think of the verses in Psalms 107:1,2,  “O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;” It seems that no matter who I talk to, wherever I go, it is pretty much the same story. My Miracle Baby

I went to the doctor for my sonogram. I was so excited to see if I was having a boy or a girl. The nurse came in and started the sonogram and then got up and left quickly. I reached over and grabbed my mom’s hand… Then, the door flew open and there stood two nurses. The second nurse took over doing the sonogram. I asked, “What is wrong?” They both got up and left the room again. I felt sick to my stomach and thought for sure my baby was dead. In came the doctor with the two nurses. He kept looking and looking at the sonogram and wouldn’t…

When It’s Time to Go Home

Guest Post by Lynne Norton, Missionary Wife, Ixmiquilpan, Hidalgo Mexico Having been raised in a Christian home gave me a good start in life, for sure. Church going, wholesome living, singing & laughing were all a part of my upbringing for which I am sincerely grateful. Our life wasn’t a bed of roses, but it was a good one. However, life happens… I can’t recall hearing anyone ever say, “Yup, this is exactly what I imagined my life would be like.” On the contrary, life knocks you about in such a way that you are left feeling afraid, angry, betrayed, and confused about many things. That’s a telltale indication it’s…

Do We Have Enough? Is It Sufficient?

Guest post by Mary Sparks, Pastor’s wife, Hope Baptist Church, Joplin, MO Sufficient? While pondering on the phrase “God’s grace is sufficient” my mind kept wondering …is it really? What is sufficient?  Is it “just enough” to meet your need?  Is it a “little more” to meet your need and have some left over?  Does it lack slightly below the “filling mark”? Think on these things: When your car is near the empty mark and the yellow light is on and the fuel light is on, and you are perhaps 30 miles from any station (you are guessing ‘cause you really don’t know how far it is).  Would one gallon…
