    What’s In It For Me?

Colossians 3:23 (kjv) says… “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” This Bible verse is self explanatory. We’re to do things heartily, that is, putting our whole heart into whatever task that God has given us to do. A sink full of dishes today? Scrub away with full force! Do a thorough job! Half wiping off the gunk with a sluggish rinse isn’t doing it whole-heartily. Perhaps we could find more enthusiasm doing a dreadful chore WHEN we decide to do it FOR the LORD and not just for man. Looking at Colossians 3:23 a little deeper… We sometimes end up with the wrong…

    Is Someone Ruffling Your Feathers?

There are people who will “ruffle our feathers” in life. It’s unavoidable. We all know people who are annoying and will irritate us to the point of insanity. In all fairness, many people don’t intentionally try to upset us. We have so many different personalities that cause conflict with each other On the other hand, there are indeed people who can truly be considered our “enemy” because they personally dislike us and would do all within their power to take us down and see us defeated. Proverbs 17:22 kjv says… A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. Why is laughter your secret weapon to beating stress? You may be surprised to discover that laughter is equivalent to fifteen minutes…

Are You a Couch Potato Christian?

I’ve heard it said that many people in our churches are mere “pew warmers.” In other words, they do believe in the importance of being present in the House of God when the doors are open, but they will rarely be seen taking an active role in areas of service, such as helping in a Sunday School class, the bus route, the nursery, the choir, junior church, the kitchen, etc. BUT… did you know that sometimes we Christians can still be couch potatoes spiritually even though we may already be busy at church? It’s great that we’re praying for God to direct our path and lead us, yet we may…

When All We See Is Our Pain

Whenever we have a painful trial, it can totally consume our thoughts and hinder us from us being able to focus on anything outside of our affliction. Trials do have a way of pulling us downward… feeling like a dark, gloomy phase in our life. It can be hard to feel hopeful and look for the positive during these painful times. When all we see is our PAIN, we lose sight of God. It’s so good for us to look at our painful circumstances from a different perspective in how God might use our trials for His glory. We can also benefit from God’s promises to lend us comfort during…
