Day 37 – What Does Your Testimony Say to the World?

Print Post
Day 37 Good morning! I’ve just grabbed my coffee and enjoying the quiet peaceful Saturday morning…and want to share with you some tidbits from my What Does Your Testimony Say to the World?morning Bible reading from Daniel Chapter 3. It’s stuffed full of tiny golden nuggets! Daniel had such a great testimony. My question is do I have a good testimony before others? I always feel that there’s room for improvement so I aim to learn as much as possible from our great Bible heroes. Daniel is a great example for us to learn from…

1. Daniel had a testimony of an excellent spirit.

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.” Daniel 6:3

That excellent spirit shows Daniel had a close relationship with our Heavenly Father. I want to have an excellent spirit like that! You should too!

2. Daniel had a testimony of faithfulness and living above reproach.

Of course, when you’re doing right…there always seems to those on the conflicting side. In this case, I believe it was jealousy that was stirred up among the presidents and princes. They were jealous of Daniels position. Daniel had such a good testimony that when they tried to find something against Daniel, they couldn’t find anything! Daniel was faithful and no error nor fault could be found against him.

“Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.” Daniel 6:4

Praise God! Isn’t that how we should live as Christians!?!

3. Daniel had a testimony of praying three times a day.

The presidents and princes finally had to trick King Darius into making a law that would go against Daniel’s law of his God (Exodus 20:3, 23:24). This law would incriminate Daniel and mean death for him (that was their evil intentions, anyway).

“All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.” Daniel 6:7

I don’t know about you, but the thought of lions tearing into me is NOT so pleasant. I’d like to say that I’d be firm and bold, but it’s a scary thought. I’m scared of being bitten by a little dog…can’t image a big old lion!!!

But this one thing I know…

Times that we’re facing trials is NOT the time to stop praying. Times that we’re facing trials is NOT the time to stop praying. Times that we’re facing trials is NOT the time to stop praying. Glory to God… Daniel knew this was true! He kept praying three times a day as he did before. (Daniel 6:10) And he didn’t try to sneak around to pray either! He did it with his windows open. That boldness and faith that God would take care of him!

“Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.” Daniel 6:10 kjv

4. Daniel had a testimony of serving God continually and this reflected to others what a mighty God Daniel must serve.

“…Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.” Daniel 6:16b

Daniel’s testimony had such a powerful influence that even the King believed his God would deliver him. That speaks volumes of what our testimony can do before the world! God did deliver Daniel… and I believe his faithfulness and great testimony had a lot to do with that answer to prayer. Our faithfulness and godly testimony are the only Bible that some people will ever read. It speaks volumes of what we think about our God! It speaks volumes about how much we love our God! I want to encourage you to pray and ask God to help you have a great testimony before the world. God bless your day ahead, Rhonda White]]>

Some good insights, Rhonda! I’ve always loved that Daniel had “an excellent spirit,” and that always motivates me to strive to have an excellent spirit. I hope I’m a good testimony to those around me!

Susan, thank you for stopping by again! My hubby loves this story and has told it so many times to Jr. church & S.S. that it’s become one of my favorites as well…but this morning, I started thinking about Daniel’s great testimony…and I do hope the same thing that I can have an excellent spirit. It’s certainly something that all Christians should strive to have as well.
