Day 32 – Are You Making God Jealous?

Print Post
Day 32

“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:”

Exodus 34:14 kjv

Are you making God JealousIn the day and age that we live in with all our entertainment — TV, sports, iphone, ipads, games & gadgets — I suspect that God is a VERY Jealous God. Our energy and focus in being zapped away with all the electronics. We hardly have time to think about Him…must less talk to Him. Of that, I find I’m guilty too. I’m not a gadget person, but I have spent numerous hours on my laptop. What if we were to spend even half the amount of time that we do on all these activities worshiping and communicating with our Heavenly Father? What difference could it make in our homes and families? What difference could it make here in America? What difference could it make in your job or business? What difference could it make in your own community? What difference could it make in times of trials and tragedies?

Prayer makes a difference, but it’s not just any prayer…

The One we pray to makes a difference. The world speaks much about prayer. “I’ll be praying for you,” they say. When tragedies happen, they send out their many sympathies of “thoughts and prayers” to those suffering. Sadly, many of those prayers never make it higher than the ceiling where they’re being uttered.

There is only ONE God which can hear our prayers and lift a finger to help us. Other gods can do nothing.

“Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.”

Psalms 115:2-8

By the way, because there is only ONE God, there is only ONE Way to get to Heaven

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6

My challenge to you today is to strive to give God more of your attention. He is worthy of your attention!! Jesus Christ suffered and shed His blood on the cross for you!! We owe Him our lives…and our commitment!! Make sure today that God isn’t jealous of your time. God bless your day ahead, Rhonda White]]>
