Do Your Trials Get in the Way of Believing God

Print Post

Exodus has some incredible FAITH inspiration!

Just reading through chapter one, I’m always inspired how God blessed the midwives with houses (Exodus 1:21 kjv) when they feared and obeyed God rather than Pharaoh, when he told the midwives to kill the baby boys being birthed by the Hebrew women. (Exodus 1:17 kjv)

In Exodus chapter two, Pharaoh’s devastating cruelty is shown when he commands that all the baby Hebrew boys were to be cast into the river.

Just ponder the pain for a moment…

The Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor; And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage… (Exodus 1:13, 14 kjv) And NOW… their baby boys are being killed. (Exodus 1:22 kjv)

How heart-wrenching is that!?! Can you hear all the cries of the hurting mothers and fathers?

But, we see GOD miraculously protect baby Moses when Pharaoh’s daughter has compassion on the baby boy left adrift the banks of the water in a basket built by his mother. (Exodus 2:6 kjv)

God has a purpose and plan, but it’s going to take TIME…

It will take TIME for Moses to grow up and to become fully ready for God’s plan to free the children of Israel.

In Exodus 3:9, we joyfully see that GOD heard the cry of the children of Israel in their oppression. You can be assured that GOD sees your tears and hears your cries as well.

In Exodus 3:10-14, we see that the TIME has now come for GOD to send Moses to lead His children out of bondage, out of Egypt.

GOD sends a message of HOPE..

“I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt…unto a land flowing with milk and honey.” (Exodus 1:17 kjv)

In Exodus chapter 4, we see GOD gives ALL the NECESSARY TOOLS that Moses will need to do the job He’s given Moses to do!

And now discouragement and impatience sets in…

In Exodus chapter 5, Pharaoh is unyielding and stubborn. He refuses to let God’s people go. He sarcastically claims they are idle and must have too much time on their hands. So, he increases their labor load by making them go out to find their own straw to make brick.

The consequences are severe. The officers of the children of Israel are beaten because of the lack of brick production. (Exodus 5:14)

In Exodus 6:5, we see confirmed again that GOD heard their groaning because of the terrible treatment and slavery conditions. You can also be very sure GOD sees your afflictions and hears your cries.

Sadly, DISCOURAGEMENT and frustration set in deeply, so much so that they refused to listen to Moses and believe GOD’S WORD that they soon were going to be delivered…

“And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage.” Exodus 6:9 kjv

Are your trials getting in the way of you believing that GOD is at work in your life?

Just like the Israelites, we can let our heavy hearts, our sorrows and sufferings and our mental frustrations interfere with listening to God’s Word and trusting His faithfulness.

I have to agree, it’s easy to doubt when you’re in a deep, dark valley…

What are you doing to stay on the right trail?

Reading my Bible DAILY really does encourage and grow my FAITH!

Seeing GOD’S miraculous hand always at work while reading through Bible HIStory reminds me that I still serve the SAME GOD that my Bible heroes served. GOD is still able to part the sea like He did for the Israelites in their final escape from the Egyptians!

We know the ending to today’s story from Exodus. GOD mightily leads His children out of Egypt and frees them from bondage. AMEN!

May I encourage you today not to get so impatient. WAIT on the Lord. Put your TRUST and HOPE in Him!

“I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.” Psalm 130:5 KJV
