Weariness..
Perhaps you’re facing a trial where there is no easy solution to conquer the situation.
Our human nature often tries to prevail with a courageous “fight” to survive. After we realize that there’s no easy way out, we lose our peace…we toss and turn in bed at night. The more we fight, and the more we search for solutions, the more exhausted and weary we become.
We fear the “what ifs” of tomorrow or near future. We look back trying to see what we should have, could have done.
We spin our wheels without any progress… wearily pushing forward, but barely hanging on.
When Moses began leading the Israelite people out of Egypt, they were afraid of the “what ifs.”
Looking back over their shoulders to see if the Egyptians would capture and force their return, they were robbed of peace.
When we hand the BATTLE or FIGHT over to God; however, we gain PEACE from the weary struggle.
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
Are you hanging on for dear life?
Are you plunging forward in the weary battle as if it’s all up to “you” to DEFEAT the enemy — the heart-wrenching circumstances?
Let the Lord fight for you!
Who can fight against the LORD?
No one can prevail against you when the Lord is on your side!
I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.
The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
And the Chariot Wheels Came Off!
I find it quite humorous that God took off the chariot wheels of the pursuing Egyptians.
“And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.” Exodus 14:25 KJV
God could have sent a huge storm to blow them away, or He could have sent down lightning to strike them dead.
But, He used simple chariot wheels (something the Egyptians depended on for speed and pursuing) to stop them in their tracks.
God literally took off those wheels! They trusted in their own strength, but nothing can prevail against the Lord our God!
When we let God take over the battle, it’s actually a testimony to the world that He is working on our behalf.
Remember the POWER of your GOD today — and you will finish well when you let go of the reins and let Him lead the way!
“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.” Psalm 20:7 KJV
