I absolutely love my daily planner! I laughingly claim that it’s my “second brain.“
My planner usually consist of important things I don’t want to FORGET for the day, but it also consists of regular ROUTINES I’m trying to establish, such as cleaning the bathroom and washing my sheets on Mondays.
I LOVE ticking off my little to-dos as I accomplish them. It’s my little reward. [sigh of contentment]
Almost always, I jot down a few names in my planner, who are in need of extra prayer, as I scroll through Facebook in the morning, while sipping my coffee. [another sigh of contentment]
In simple terms, I write down the things that are IMPORTANT to me in my daily planner and my journal.
My Planner Could Be a Whopping Failure…
My planner does absolutely NO GOOD if I don’t CHOOSE to take action on what is written inside.
Our years, months, weeks are filled with daily choices…actually each hour and each minute we are making choices that affect our life.
EACH of our CHOICES have an outcome with specific results due to the choice of actions we take.
BUT… even the BEST planner and action taker in the world, still faces disturbing circumstances that unsettles their peaceful world.
Will those circumstances rob you and I of our JOY?
Romans 15:13 kjv says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
We always have HOPE in every single situation with GOD.
And, with the right planning, we can have MORE PEACE and JOY in our lives!
What’s at the TOP of your planner today?
We have spiritual CHOICES to make in our daily lives! ABOVE our To-Do lists! They should be at the TOP of our PRIORITIES in our planner!
Are you failing to place JESUS first at the top of your planner?
We need the power of the HOLY SPIRIT within us to direct our thoughts, our path, our choices, our actions, our attitudes, etc.
The RESULTS: JOY and PEACE!
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”Galatians 5:22,23
SCHEDULE at the top of your planner: Get Filled with the Holy Spirit
No time for God?
We get done each day what we choose to act upon as our main priorities.
PLAN your devotions. PLAN your prayer time. Make them your PRIORITIES!
Above all, ask the HOLY SPIRIT to fill you and take over your thoughts and choice of actions for the day.
Before ending, I just wanted to share a couple of quotes and tidbits from my JOURNAL:
Choose Instant Peace…
“We just need to have ‘instant peace.’ It does not matter that we missed our flight; it will work out. Anger is a wasted emotion and only causes us to be fearful and upset. We determine our emotions by how we think. We cannot change what happened, and therefore, we can decide to have ‘instant peace.’– Marlene Evans
We usually cannot change our circumstances. Most situations are outside of our control. We CAN CHOOSE to trust God anyway.
Schedule things into your life that you enjoy…
“Have something in your day, your week, your month, and your year that you can look forward to.”– Maria Baker
That’s planning for more joyful moments, isn’t it!?!
I want to assure you, that I’m far from perfecting “instance peace” in my life. I get overwhelmed with circumstances, just like everyone else does…
But, I do hope to encourage you to schedule in spending time with Jesus DAILY and asking to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that you can truly enjoy the FRUITS of the Holy Spirit.
Yes, SCHEDULE in your plans for more “PEACE and JOY!”
May God bless you and your family,
