In the beginning… it all started with God.
God created the heavens and the earth. A perfect, beautiful world was created for us. And God saw that everything He made was very good. (Genesis 1:31)
It wasn’t long until man yielded to temptation and sinned. Was it murder that caused Adam and Eve their first downfall? No. Was it a terrible lie that they told? No.
It was an act of disobedience of eating from the tree which God had told them was completely off limits. (Genesis 2:17)
Adam and Eve had many good choices from delicious fruit trees, but obviously they weren’t content with only those choices.
Let’s not deceive ourselves in thinking that if we’d been Adam or Eve, we would have done a better job with obedience.
And let’s not deceive ourselves into thinking we’re not really a sinner because we haven’t committed murder or told any big lies.
Today, man is still pushing past the boundaries…wanting to do things his own way. Disobedient.
Despite all the great choices of right living, many choose to yield to the temptations that Satan uses to entice them further away from God.
Many may also fail to see their need of salvation because they don’t see themselves as a real sinner. (Romans 3:23) (Romans 10:13)
Let’s start over…back to the beginning.
Let’s put God first.
Let’s yield to God in obedience.
Let’s walk and talk with Him daily.
Let’s be content with the boundaries God has set for us…it’s for our own protection because God loves us so much.
Let’s get hungry to know more about God like we did in the beginning… when we first became a child of God.
If you’ve never humbled yourself as a sinner, and asked Jesus to forgive you of your sins, and you’ve never accepted His gift of eternal life, then today can also be a great new beginning for you! Yield and accept Him as your Savior today! (John 3:16)
God is so good to us! God’s mercies are new everyday!
it’s a fresh, new day…what are you going to do with it today?
My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
God bless you and your family,

It’s so easy to get off course, isn’t it? I think Satan puts many distractions around us. During revivals at church I can get so pumped up and ready to go…and then life gets busy and I can end up laying aside my enthusiasm. When you see a new Christian hungering for God’s Word and growing spiritually, it’s a good wake up reminder that we, too, as Christians need to be doing the same and also keeping obedience in the forefront as well.
