Let’s Sail into Fall with Fearless Faith

Print Post

The self-help industry has blossomed big time in the last 10 years or more. If you walk into a bookstore, you’ll see tons of self-help books lining the shelves. Why? Because people want to better themselves. They want to conquer their life obstacles.

We should be extremely cautious about intaking and adapting most of the worldly philosophies pushed our way.  For example, “Just follow your heart, and you’ll do the right thing” is catastrophic advice.

God’s ultimate authority says in Jeremiah 17:9 (kjv), “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Following your heart will possibly lead you astray big time!

Our heart is NOT a good navigator.

But, one of the philosophies out there about having a positive mindset is spot on…

Proverbs 23:7 prompts us, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:”

A positive mindset can push you and I toward lots of possibilities… and a negative mindset is defeating for sure.

Do you know what’s even better than the world’s philosophy on positive thinking?

We have GOD as our captain to swiftly navigate you and I around those iceberg obstacles which might otherwise have been deemed as impossible feats to overcome.

Our FAITH in GOD can turn the tide of impossibilities to embark you and I upon the ship of possibilities when we will believe and trust God…

Here’s three quick Bible verses to soar our faith and belief upstream today:

“Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23 (KJV)

“And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Luke 18:27 (KJV)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight:” 2nd Corinthians 5:7 kjv

Just a brief side note: It’s a fact that the sea of life can be full of drowning disappointments. Things don’t always steer in the direction we would like. Sometimes we are faced with turbulent grief and suffering.

We don’t always feel well-equipped to face the tempest.  We may feel like we’ve lost our bearings during these swift tides.

We just can’t see the beautiful shore through the stormy waters, but…

We can fearlessly sail forward in faith, trusting that GOD is working on His plan to push us forward in the direction that will best finish our journey.

Jesus himself faced suffering on the cross. We feel a bit of his agony when we read His words in Mark 14:36, “And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.”

Remember, we should want God’s will over our own will.

We can still keep a positive flow through these dark streams by keeping our focus on desiring God’s best plan for our journey. We can positively trust that He ALWAYS knows what He’s doing and where we’re headed. We can positively believe that His plan for us is greater than our own plans.

Just as those beautiful lyrics say, “He’s the one who sails with me. He’s the master of the sea,” let’s sail forward in faith this fall!

Here’s a little fun, fall word acronym for you today. (Well, my attempt at one anyway. Haha!)

F – Follow Jesus! He never leads us down the wrong path. (See Luke 5:11).

A – Allow God to work in you! He has an expected plan for you. (See Jeremiah 29:11).

L – Leave your worries and problems to God. (See Philippians 4:6).

L – Live, Laugh, Love, Let your light shine. (Had a hard time just choosing one word, so I included them all here. LOL.)

Bon voyage!
